FAQ

What’s the difference between the Free Audit and the Full (Professional) SEO Audit?

Free Audit is an instant, automated scan — 69 checks across 11 areas of your site’s technical SEO, results by email in minutes, no cost. Full Audit (CAD $300) goes further: with one-time read-only access to Google Analytics and Google Search Console (or files you export and email us), you get a complete review with a role-specific action brief for every finding — an SEO issue goes to your SEO person, a technical one to your developer. You also get your own client portal with the report, plus up to 5 free rechecks over the next six months to confirm the fixes worked.

Do I need to give you access to my website or accounts?

No — the Free Audit only needs your site’s URL. For a Full Audit, we request one-time, read-only access to Google Analytics and Google Search Console for a fuller picture, but never admin or editing access to your website itself. There are two ways to share that data with us — pick whichever is easier for you.

Option A — grant us read-only access

Add webemergencyca@gmail.com as a user in each account:

Google Analytics 4

  1. Sign in to analytics.google.com with your own account.
  2. Admin (gear icon, bottom left) → under the Property column, click Property Access Management.
  3. Click the + button → Add users.
  4. Enter webemergencyca@gmail.com, set the role to Viewer, and confirm.

Google Search Console

  1. Sign in to search.google.com/search-console with your own account.
  2. Select your property (your website) in the top-left property picker.
  3. Settings (left sidebar) → Users and permissions.
  4. Click Add user, enter webemergencyca@gmail.com, and set permission to Restricted (this is enough for us to read your search performance data — no need for Full or Owner access).

Both take about a minute and can be revoked from the same screen at any time after we’ve delivered your report.

Option B — export the data yourself and send it to us

Prefer not to grant account access? Export the last 12 months of data yourself and email the files to webemergencyca@gmail.com — we’ll use what you send in place of live access.

  • Google Search Console: go to Performance → Search results, set the date range to the last 12 months, then click Export (top right) and choose Microsoft Excel or CSV. This downloads all tabs — queries, pages, countries, devices, dates — in one file.
  • Google Analytics: open the report you’d like to share, set the date range to the last 12 months, click Share this report (top right), then Download file and choose CSV. GA4 exports one report at a time, so send a few files if you’d like more than one view (e.g. Traffic acquisition, Engagement).
  • Bing Webmaster Tools (optional — only if you’re already registered there, no need to sign up specially): open Search Performance, set the date range to the last 12 months, and click Download to save a CSV.

If an export saves to Google Sheets instead of downloading a file: open the sheet in Google Drive, then File → Download → Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) — that gives you a file you can attach to an email.

Does this work for any website, or only WordPress/Shopify/etc.?

It works on any website. We automatically detect your platform (WordPress, Shopify, Wix, and others) and note platform-specific issues where relevant.

How long does it take to get results?

Free Audit results arrive by email within minutes. Full Audit results are typically ready within 3 business days.

Is my data kept private?

See our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect and how it’s used.

I already did a Free Audit — can I order a Full Audit, Investigation, or SEO Promotion directly?

Yes. None of these require doing a Free Audit first — order any of them any time from the Our Services page. If your Free Audit scored 80 or higher, you qualify for $50 CAD off a Full Audit — a cleaner site is easier for us to work with, so we pass the savings on. Mention your score when you order.

What’s the difference between a Full Audit and an Investigation?

A Full Audit reviews your site’s current SEO health. Investigation is for when something specific changed — a real traffic or ranking drop — and you want to know exactly what happened and when; we pull site and server logs and trace the cause. Like a Full Audit, it includes your own client portal and up to 5 free rechecks over six months to confirm the issue’s resolved. CAD $500.

What if I want ongoing SEO help, not just a one-time audit?

That’s SEO Promotion, one of the options on our Our Services page. There’s no fixed package and no capacity limit — tell us about your site, and we’ll figure out the right scope together.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes, within a window. After you order a Full Audit, we request access to your analytics/tracking data (where relevant) and hold off starting the audit for up to one week. You can cancel and get a full refund any time during that week. If you don’t cancel or reschedule within that window, we go ahead with the audit using our own data — with or without the access you may have granted — and it’s no longer refundable at that point.

What’s the difference between the ratings pages and my own audit results?

The rating pages are a public directory/leaderboard of sites that went through an audit and chose to be listed — separate and different from your own private Free/Full Audit report, which is never public unless you specifically opt in to a rating listing.

Is being listed in the WebEmergency Rating automatic, or do I have to agree to it?

WebEmergency Rating is actually four related views, not one list — and all of them are voluntary, never automatic.

Free Site Directory — for sites that score 80 or higher on their Free Audit. No scores shown, no ranking, just proof you’re doing it right.

Top-Rated Sites — a real leaderboard, scored out of 100 from your actual Full Audit findings. The cleanest sites rise to the top.

Top SEO Agencies — ranked by how well an agency’s own clients’ sites score, not by self-reported case studies.

Browse by Score — the same Full rating, filtered by score band, so you can jump straight to the top tier or see where a specific range lands.

None of these list a site automatically — you (and your SEO agency, if you have one) each confirm explicitly before being listed. Once you’re in, listings run on an annual cycle, and you can ask to be removed at any time.

I run an SEO agency — how do I get listed on Top SEO Agencies?

Your standing there comes from your own clients’ audited sites, not from a submission or portfolio. When one of your clients runs a Full Audit and confirms their listing, that result counts toward your agency’s standing — there’s no self-nomination and no paid placement. See Top SEO Agencies for the full picture, or use “Notify Me” there to hear when the leaderboard goes live.

Why is my website not showing up on Google?

Usually one of a handful of causes: pages accidentally blocked in robots.txt, a missing or broken sitemap, a leftover “noindex” tag, or a page that simply isn’t linked from anywhere Google can find it. Free Audit checks all of these automatically — run a Free Audit to see which one applies to you.

Why does my website say “Not Secure”?

Almost always a certificate or “mixed content” issue — some part of the page (an image, a script) is still loading over an insecure http:// connection even though the page itself uses https://. Free Audit flags exactly which resources are causing it.

Why is my website down?

Could be a hosting/server issue, a broken redirect, or a DNS problem. Free Audit checks whether your site is reachable and flags redirect chains/loops that can cause this.

Why is my website loading slow?

Usually large uncompressed images, render-blocking scripts, or poor caching — the same factors behind your Core Web Vitals scores. Free Audit measures these directly and flags what’s dragging things down.
